We realize that lock outs are part of life and can happen at the most inconvenient times. We do our best to provide assistance in these times, however there are costs associated with all lock outs, so please pay close attention to where you leave your keys!
Most of our buildings have a key system setup, and there are copies available at Glenview Lock in Oakland. You must call or email myerhoffassociates@gmail.com or laurashy.myerhoff@gmail.com to give authorization to Glenview. A replacement key can be picked up during regular business hours if locked out. You will be asked to verify that you are resident by providing identification.
During regular business hours 9AM-4PM Mon-Fri you may call one of our handymen Tony or Tommy at the numbers below. They will generally provide access within 2-4 hrs depending on where they are working and their availability. We charge a flat rate of $50-75 for all lock outs. This will be billed to your account for payment with your upcoming rent.
We do not provide lock out services on weekends, holidays or after regular business hours of Mon-Fri 9AM-4PM. If you are locked out of your apartment during after hours or on holidays please call a locksmith at the numbers below, or you may choose to call your own locksmith to gain access. You are responsible for payment at the time of service.
If you live in a building with an onsite manager (only buildings with 16 units or more have an on site manager), you may contact them for entry. We charge a flat rate of $50-75 for all lock outs. This is payable directly to the onsite manager or will be billed to your account for payment with your upcoming rent. Entry will generally be within 2-4 hrs depending on where the on site manager is at the time of the lock out. There is always the possibility that an onsite manager is out of town or across the Bay. Even with on-site managers, we do not guarantee access. You may still need to call a locksmith or go to Glenview Lock.
We strongly encourage you to leave a spare key with a friend or family member in the area, so that you can be responsible for your own access in case of a lock out.

If your keys are stolen or lost to your building, it will be a flat $350 charge to rekey the building and rekey your apartment door– this cost will be charged to the tenant directly or taken out of your security deposit (you would then be required to replenish the amount deducted from your security deposit).
You are strongly encouraged to get renter’s insurance- many would cover the costs of this rekeying issue.
