*Plumbing and Hair Clog Addendum*

The building where you reside has old plumbing and care is required to ensure that the plumbing works properly. Please read this carefully so you understand your responsibilities.

  1. All tenants are required to obtain and use a hair trap in each bathtub or shower drain. If your unit does not have one please let us know. We will supply the first one, thereafter it is your responsibility to buy and use one. Your unit should be equipped with one prior to taking occupancy.
  2. If your plumbing gets clogged by your own hair or other material that you flushed or drained, and requires snaking, we charge a flat rate $75 if we are able to clear the line. If a rooter is required, the Tenant shall be responsible for payment. The cost for a rooter is generally $150 per incident. Payment is due at the time of service. Additional after-hours charges may apply.
  3. If you wish to call your own plumber, we will authorize the expense only if the plumber finds the clog was not caused by hair or other items disposed of by the tenant. Please keep any invoices and have the plumber state the cause of the clog or slow draining.
  4. To avoid slow draining pipes, please collect hair from your bathroom sink and put it in the trash. Do not allow it to go down the drain. Hair will eventually clog the p-trap.

PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU GET AND USE A HAIR TRAP

*Toilet Clogs*
The building where you reside has old plumbing. You may only flush human excrement and toilet paper.

  1. Do not flush feminine products, paper towels or any other items.
  2. We charge a flat rate $75 if we can unclog your toilet due to flushing an object other than toilet paper or human excrement. If we need to call a professional plumber/rooter and discover a clogged item, it will be billed back to the tenant. Payment is due at time of service and
costs approximately $150. Additional after-hours charges may apply.
